Director of Strength & Conditioning: One of the key elements in the driving success of APX operations is Drew Buchkoski. Buchkoski, now in his 12th year as APX’ Program Director of Sports Performance, plays a significant role as the designer for the year-round Strength & Conditioning calendar for its Pro, Collegiate and High School programs. He oversees the NHL, NFL & MLB Off-Season training protocols, as well as his work within agencies.
While he has been one of the integral components to APX program’s success, his work and innovations are now recognized as some of the contributions to the pace at which performance programming has changed and been administered into the High School & Pro Athlete realms. The Strength and Conditioning programming furnishes athletes with a wide variety of sport-specific exercise through weight and body-weight training, plyometrics, speed and speed-traction emphasis, yoga, aquatics and Poliquin Performance Principle lifting systems. He is a noted authority in the field of exercises dealing with the improvement of neuromuscular strength and function via strain/counter-strain applications that incorporate position and stance specificity through eccentric/concentric tempos.
The Michigan native became an assistant strength coach at Eastern Washington University in 1998, a position he held for two years before assuming a Graduate Assistant role at Gonzaga University and then to the Seattle Seahawks as an intern within their Football Operations offices. Buchkoski served Strength and Conditioning Coaching stints at Arizona State University, Scottsdale Community College and at a Charles Poliquin endorsed Ikei Performance Center. He aided with a push for better science and programming in the Arizona High School Strength and Conditioning community through the L.E.T.S. (Life Education Through Sports) organization, in which he donated time as their Strength and Conditioning coordinator helping dozens of High School Football Teams' coaching staffs implement better programming.
He graduated from Florida State University with a Masters of Science in Strength and Conditioning, and attained his Bachelors Degree from Eastern Washington University. He is certified though the Certified Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and has attained a Poliquin International Certification Program (PICP) credential via Coaching Levels 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 as a Poliquin International Master Strength Coach. He is 1-of-27 in the world who hold a Level 5 credential.
Throughout his 20-year career, he has aided, prescribed and administered training protocols that have resulted in the placement of 38 athletes in the NFL draft, 180 into NFL/CFL Training Camps, developed 62 MLB/MiLB Drafted and Contracted Athletes, 35 NHL/AHL/WHL Hockey Athletes, and between Arizona & Washington has produced Training Programming that warranted 11 State Football Titles and numerous Track & Field, Volleyball, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Hockey championships. He is responsible for spear heading the APX Certification Program and its credential process for Strength and Conditioning coaches and training educators. Since 2018, he has been aiding the development of the athletes at Florida State University under the Football, Baseball & Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning departments.

Quote: "I have seen many strength and conditioning programs used for athletes of all age and skill levels but APX stands out as the most productive and effective, sport specific program out there. The system has changed the way athletes look at their training, by incorporating sport-specific techniques into an on-ice program. At all ages and levels, the athletes that endure an 8-12 week program perform better at all levels."
